Pittsburgh Studio Newborn Session
There is nothing quite like welcoming a new baby into the family, and this Pittsburgh Studio Newborn Session with baby Roman was such a joy to photograph. We met at Studio Neva in Bethel Park for the newborn portion of this family’s maternity and newborn collection, and it was so much fun seeing everyone again after their outdoor maternity session.
One of my favorite parts of offering a maternity and newborn collection is getting to reconnect with families during such an exciting season. By the time your newborn session arrives, we’ve already spent time together, making everyone feel more comfortable in front of the camera. It creates a relaxed experience that allows us to focus on your growing family.
Roman was one of the sleepiest babies I’ve photographed. He slept through almost the entire session, which is definitely not the norm! Every baby is different, and I always let them set the pace, but Roman made my job especially easy. And just look at that incredible head of hair!
Mom borrowed another beautiful dress from my client wardrobe, making it easy to coordinate timeless, neutral outfits without having to shop for something new. I also provide all of the baby wraps, diaper covers, and accessories used during the session. I carefully choose classic pieces that keep the focus where it belongs—on your baby and your family’s connection.
Big sister was absolutely wonderful with her new baby brother. I never know how older siblings will respond during a newborn session. Some aren’t interested in the baby at all, while others can’t stop giving hugs and kisses. Every reaction is completely normal, and I always follow their lead. Roman’s big sister happily snuggled close and gave him the sweetest little hugs, creating some of my favorite images from the session.
Grandma came along to help with big sister whenever she needed a break, which is always welcome during family newborn sessions. Having an extra set of hands can make the experience even more relaxed for everyone.
My goal is always to create images that feel timeless. From the carefully selected wardrobe to the simple styling, every detail is chosen so your photographs will still feel beautiful hanging on your walls decades from now. Baby Roman’s session was filled with sweet family moments, and I feel so grateful to have documented this chapter for them after photographing their maternity session as well.
