Pittsburgh Newborn Session

This Pittsburgh Newborn Session was such a sweet morning with the Cassetta family. We met at one of my favorite studio spaces in the South Hills of Pittsburgh to celebrate their newest addition and document this fleeting season as a family of four.
Big sister needed just a few minutes to warm up, so we started with some fun games. We acted like animals, played guessing games, and found plenty of reasons to laugh. Before long, she was giving mom the biggest hugs and snuggling her new baby sibling like a pro.

As a fellow Mount Lebanon local, it was especially meaningful to photograph another family from the community where I grew up. One thing I loved about this session was how true mom stayed to her personal style. While I often recommend flowy dresses for newborn sessions, she chose a beautiful muted sweater and neutral pants that felt completely like her and it photographed wonderfully.

One of the best parts of a studio newborn session is how little parents need to bring. Big sister borrowed a dress from the client closet, and I provided all of the wraps and accessories for baby. Aside from the essentials you’d normally bring when leaving the house with a newborn, everything was ready and waiting for them.

My seasonal allergies happened to be bothering me during this session, so I wore a mask as an extra precaution. Keeping your family comfortable and cared for is always important to me, and I’m always happy to wear a mask around your baby if you’d prefer.
Cassetta family, thank you for trusting me to preserve these first memories together. It was such a joy to spend the morning with you.
And if you have a newborn in the Pittsburgh area, I’d love to capture this season for you.
