You want professional photos of your family. But you’re also wondering what this will actually cost and what you’ll get for your money.
I get asked about pricing all the time. And I’d rather be upfront about it than make you fill out a contact form just to find out if a family photo session fits your budget.
So let me break down exactly how my pricing works and what you can expect when you book with me as your Pittsburgh family photographer.

My Signature Family Session Starts at $500
This is my most popular option for families who want beautiful photos without committing to multiple sessions right away.
Here’s what you get for $500. We spend time together at a location, my studio or an outdoor location, whatever works for your family. I photograph you naturally, without stiff poses or forced smiles. Then you come to my studio for an in-person viewing, where you see all your images on a big screen.
The photography session fee covers my time, my expertise, and your viewing appointment. After that, you choose which images you want to keep and how you want them printed.
Most families invest between $800 and $1,500 total when they add prints, wall art, or albums to their session fee.

The Membership Option Gives You More for Less
If you want photos throughout the year, the membership makes more sense financially.
You get three to four-five family photo sessions at a discounted rate. This works perfectly for families who want to capture different seasons or milestones without paying full price each time.
You might do a spring session at the park, summer photos at home, fall images with the leaves, and winter holiday portraits. Or you space them out however works best for your family.
The membership also locks in your pricing, so you don’t worry about rate increases during your membership year.
Why I Focus on Printed Products

You can buy digital files from me. But I really encourage families to print their images.
Here’s why. Photos on your phone stay on your phone. You mean to print them someday, but you probably won’t. Your kids don’t see them. You don’t enjoy them daily.
When you invest in wall art or an album, those images become part of your home. Your kids grow up seeing themselves loved and celebrated. You walk past that photo in your hallway every single day.
I help you choose the right products during your viewing appointment. You don’t guess about sizes or feel overwhelmed by options. I guide you through everything.
This Investment Pays Off for Years
A family photo session in Pittsburgh isn’t just about getting pictures. It’s about preserving this exact moment with your kids before they grow and change.
Your toddler won’t be this little next year. Your teenager won’t want to hold your hand forever. These moments matter, and they deserve more than a phone full of snapshots you never look at.
When you work with me, you get quality images and real support throughout the process. I make everything easy so you can focus on your family.
Let’s Talk About What Works for You
I offer both single sessions and membership options because different families need different things. There’s no pressure to choose the most expensive package or buy things you don’t want.
If you’re ready to book a family photo session, reach out today. We’ll talk about your family, what you’re hoping for, and which option makes the most sense for your budget.
You deserve photos you’ll actually display and treasure. Let’s make that happen.
FAQs
What if my kids don’t cooperate during the session?
That’s more common than you think, and it’s completely okay. The session is designed to work around real kids and real moods. Some of the most meaningful images come from imperfect moments.
Is a family photoshoot worth it if we’ve never printed photos before?
Absolutely. Many families start printing photos for the first time after their session. Once you see your images displayed in your home, it often changes how you value and enjoy them.
How far in advance should we book a family photoshoot in Pittsburgh?
Most families book 4 to 6 weeks in advance, especially during busy seasons like fall. Booking early helps secure your preferred dates and gives us time to plan a session that fits your family perfectly.
